After a project with her sister didn’t work out, the pair of sisters set off on a three week trip to India to take a break. Little did they know they would find inspiration for their next project!
Flora had always been a socially minded person. In her teenage years she volunteered education NGO in Senegal and later, during University, she worked with a NGO that rescued children from the mines of Potosi, Bolivia and helped them to build a better future. She also worked with her local Red Cross. But when it came to her studies and career she chose business, at least initially.
With a friend, Flora has been conspiring for more than a year to quit her job and spend 6 months traveling South America visiting and showcasing various NGOs and social enterprises they meet along the way.
“When I went to India, this project was not so clear in my mind. Meeting Reality Tours & Gives confirmed my will to get more exposure to these kinds of organizations. It made me want to discover a lot more organizations and models, and of course gave me even more motivation for my own project.”
But it’s visitors like Flora that inspire us and gives us the motivation to continue!
Flora started her trip in Mexico late last year will travel for 6 months before flying back to France from Columbia. If you would like to follow Flora and her project, check out her site: http://toctocproject.tumblr.com/.
Periodically we feature a Reality Changer: someone who was inspired by Reality Group to become a change maker, either with Reality Group or in their own community.
