Being one of the 7 Wonders of the Word and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Taj Mahal is one of the must see monuments in India. Departing from Delhi, we will stop along the way in a village where we will enjoy some chai with a local family, then arriving in Agra on time for lunch at the accomodation where we will spend the night.

With this overnight stay in Agra, you will have the chance to admire the Taj Mahal either at sunset or sunrise. We will take a walk and see the Taj from the Agra Fort and enjoy a romantic view of the this beautiful mausoleum. On full moon evenings we will also have the opportunity to experience the mesmerizing effects of the light on the white marble turning into various silver shades.

The next morning, we will have the opportunity to visit the Taj Mahal for sunrise or the Agra Fort depending on your choice and then make our way to Fatehpur Sikri, to enjoy this Mughal architectural splendour walled city before leaving for Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna. Here we will take a boat ride on the Yamuna River and visit the various ghats before going back to Delhi.

    On the way to Agra we stop for a chai with community members of a small village. With the help of our guides you will be able to ask any questions and learn about village life.

    Admire the beauty of the Taj Mahal. Spend some time wandering around the courtyard taking its architecture and beauty. On the full moon nights, enjoy the spectacular views of the mausoleum's glowing white marble.

    Mathura is one of the holiest cities in India, the birthplace of Lord Krishna. You will enjoy a typical boat ride on the Yamuna River and enjoy the views while passing from one ghat to another.

We leave Delhi in the early morning.

On the way to Agra we will stop for a chai at a local village where you will learn about local life.

On arrival at Agra we will check in and then have lunch with a local family.

In the late afternoon we will take a walk and enjoy the stunning view of the Taj Mahal during sunset from the Agra Fort.

We will conclude the first day having dinner.

We leave Agra and stop at Faterpur Sikri on the way to Mathura.

If you wish to see the Taj Mahal also at sunrise, we can arrange this on the second day of the tour, before we set off for Fatherpur Sikri, one of the World Heritage Sites by the Unesco.

We will then travel to Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, where we will first enjoy a family lunch followed by a boat trip along the river. We will see the many ghats and witness the spiritual part of the town.

At the end of the day we will make our way back to Delhi, where the tour will end.

How long will it take to get to Agra?

It takes 3.5 hours to drive to Agra from Delhi. We will travel in a private air-conditioned car and stop at a small village for a chai on the way there to break up the journey.

I’m not interested in the fort, can we skip it?

We would highly recommend including the fort in your day. Although less well-known, it is very impressive and our guests are always happy they went. It also has an interesting view of the Taj Mahal. But if you would like to skip it, we can.

What will we eat for lunch?

We’ll have a home-cooked vegetarian lunch that will certainly include roti and a few vegetable dishes. Sometimes we have dishes such as dal (lentils), mixed vegetable curry and paneer vegetable curry.

Will the guide be with us the entire time?

Yes, your guide from Reality Tours will accompany you the whole time until we return to Delhi the next day. When we go into the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort we will be assisted by a local guide.

The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays but we can view it at sunset from across the river and then visit the site at sunrise the following morning.
