Witness the Taj Mahal on this Agra tour package!
The Taj Mahal is one of those rare world famous sights that exceeds expectations. Any trip to Delhi is not complete without a visit to Agra, taking in this jaw-dropping architectural marvel.
Your guide will accompany you from Delhi to Agra and back again by train on this day tour.
On arrival in Agra, we head straight to the Taj Mahal where you can either roam around independently after an initial briefing from our tour guide about the historical background, or a local tour guide can give you a more detailed tour (guided tours inside Taj Mahal and Agra Fort have to be led by a local certified guide).
For lunch, we normally go to a local restaurant to eat a lovely vegetarian thali, where you eat a number of different dishes on one big plate.
After lunch, we get a tuk-tuk to Agra Fort, which is also spectacular and would be the crowning jewel of almost any other city. We then go to Mehtab Bagh, a small 22 acre Persian-style garden located next to the Yamuna river, offering a very unique view of the Taj Mahal, particularly at sunset. There is also the option to visit the tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah (“Baby Taj Mahal”).
We then catch an evening train back to Delhi.
Gape in awe at the Taj Mahal. Spend some time wandering around the courtyard, taking in the architecture, history, and refined beauty of this world-famous mausoleum.
Agra is also home to the impressive, 94-acre Agra Fort that, although often overshadowed by the Taj, is spectacular in its own right.
Enjoy the sunset view of the Taj from this garden located next to the Yamuna River
We catch the train to Agra from Nizamuddin Railway Station
Gate 2, Nizamuddin Railway Station (See “A” in Map below)
You should allow 40 mins from Paharganj and 45 mins from Karol Bagh to get to Nizamuddin Station by tuk-tuk
It takes 1 hour and 40 minutes on the train to get to Agra
Entry fees to the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort are not included in the tour price.
We would highly recommend including Agra Fort in your day. Although less well-known, it is very impressive and our guests are always happy they went. It also has an interesting view of the Taj Mahal. But if you would like to skip it, we can.
