Experience the Spiritual Essence of the Maha Kumbh Mela!
Step into one of the world’s largest and most awe-inspiring spiritual gatherings—the Maha Kumbh Mela, a festival that attracts millions of pilgrims, sadhus (holy men), and visitors from around the globe. This tour takes you to the heart of the celebration, where faith, culture, and tradition converge on the banks of the sacred rivers.
Begin your journey in the bustling city of Delhi, exploring its vibrant streets and iconic landmarks. From there, we’ll travel to the site of the Kumbh Mela, immersing ourselves in the mesmerizing rituals, colorful processions, and the spiritual energy that defines this once-in-a-lifetime event. Witness the holy dips in the river, listen to captivating stories from the sadhus, and experience the deep-rooted spirituality that has drawn people here for centuries.
After soaking in the spiritual essence of the Kumbh Mela, we’ll journey to nearby Varanasi, India’s spiritual capital. Stroll along the ghats of the Ganges, witness the enchanting evening aarti, and delve deeper into the rich cultural and religious heritage of this ancient city.
As with all our tours, 80% of the profits from the Kumbh Mela tour directly support Reality Gives, our non-profit organization that empowers communities through education and skill development programs in Dharavi (Mumbai) and Sanjay Colony (Delhi). By joining this tour, you’re not just exploring India—you’re helping create lasting change for those in need.
Experience the magic of the Kumbh Mela, the tranquility of Varanasi, and the joy of making a difference with Reality Tours!
Welcome to Delhi, the nation’s capital, a vibrant city with an unbelievable amount of history! Your tour guide will meet you at the airport, and then you will transfer to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time and how tired you are, the tour guide will plan the rest of the day with you accordingly, which could include some sightseeing/activities or relaxation at the hotel.
Today, you can do any of the City Tours or Slum Tours we offer. We suggest visiting Sanjay Colony in the morning, a small slum built on 25 acres of land located in the south of Delhi. Learn about the working and residential life, and witness how, despite the challenging living conditions, it remains an area charged with positive energy and a strong community. You will also learn about the NGO programs directly supported by your visit.
In the afternoon, we suggest doing some traditional sightseeing of your choice, such as visiting India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb, Agrasen ki Baoli (a stepwell), and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, a Sikh temple and one of the largest community kitchens in India, which feeds more than 10,000 people per day.
Today, we will take a flight to Varanasi. On arrival and check-in, we will visit Dashashwamedh Ghat and take a boat ride on the Holy River Mother Ganga and witness the Ganga Aarti (candle-lit ceremony).
Early in the morning, we will walk through the Old City and visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple—dedicated to Lord Shiva—a visit to Manikarnika Ghat (the main cremation ghat, which holds deep religious and cultural significance), followed by Sankat Mochan Temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, and Banaras Hindu University. We will return to the hotel for breakfast and later visit Sarnath—the place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. We will explore the Dhamek Stupa and the Sarnath Archaeological Museum.
Today, we will drive to Prayagraj (3-4 hrs) for the Kumbh Mela—a once-in-a-lifetime spiritual experience that attracts millions of pilgrims from around the world. Upon arrival, we will check into a camp stay and later visit Bade Hanuman Temple and Akshayavat (an ancient banyan tree). In the evening, we will participate in the Ganga Aarti at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of three sacred rivers (Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati).
Today, we will observe the spiritual activities in the Kumbh Mela, such as bathing rituals, the grand procession of the Sadhus, meditation, and Hawan.
Today, we will drive to Ayodhya (4-5 hrs), the birthplace of Lord Rama. Upon arrival and check-in, we will visit the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and Dashrath Mahal (the original residence of King Dashrath, the ruler of Ayodhya and father of Bhagwan Sri Ram), followed by an evening Saryu Aarti.
Today, we will drive to Lucknow (3 hrs). Upon arrival in Lucknow, we will visit Bada Imambara, Rumi Darwaza, and then take a flight to Delhi. Upon arrival, we will transfer you to the hotel.
