Explore the capital like a local with our Full Day Delhi Sightseeing Tour by Public Transport!

Metros, buses and tuk-tuks!

This tour begins in Connaught Place and starts with a short metro ride to Dhobi Ghat (laundry) where you will see the hard working people of Delhi washing, scrubbing and drying some of the many white sheets from hotels across the city. We then walk to an nearby ancient step well, rumoured to have been built in 10th century and rebuilt in the 14th century, containing 103 steps.

From there we will get a local bus to India Gate, the monument similar in design to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris which commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting during World War I.

We’ll then get an auto rickshaw (tuk-tuk) to Humayun’s Tomb, one of the must do sites in Delhi where you can get lost in its beauty. Nearby is the fascinating Nizamuddin Dargah where you can observe Muslim pilgrims giving offerings.

After another rickshaw and metro ride, we’ll end up in Khan Market, one of Asia’s most expensive shopping areas, for a bite to eat and for a well earned rest!

We’ll then head to Gandhi Smriti, a museum dedicated to the life of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, and the place where he spent his last few days before being assassinated.

From there, we will venture to the nearby Gurudwara Bangla Sahib Sikh temple and witness how they are able to prepare lunch for up to 1000 people at a time, before heading back to Connaught Place where the tour ends

Highlights

Inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, this 42 metres monument commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting during World War I.

This magnificent 16th century tomb is the earliest large scale example of Mughal architecture in India! Take some time to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site and the surrounding buildings in this 30-acre garden complex.

Visit the beautiful Gurudwara Bangla Sahib Sikh Temple. Learn about Sikhism and see the communal kitchen where anybody is allowed to eat for free. The kitchen is completely volunteer run and if you would like to help out, you are more than welcome!

Soak up the chaos of the Nizamuddin area and then see the dargah complex containing more than 70 graves and visited by thousands of Muslim pilgrims each week.

Gandhi is one of the most important figures of the 20th century and a trip to Gandhi’s house offers the chance to learn more about this inspiring man. This house is where Gandhi spent the final days of his life and where he was assassinated and is an important spot for anyone interested in India’s tumultuous history.

This ancient step well, rumored to have been built in 10th century and rebuilt in the 14th century, has 103 steps and is 60 metres long.

Visit one of Delhi’s poshest neighbourhood hangouts: a complex where people flock to dine at restaurants, converse in cafes, and shop the latest trends. We’ll stop here for some well deserved food!

Wandering where your hotel linen goes? There’s a high chance that it comes to a place like this, where the hard working people of Delhi manually scrub, wash and dry the sheets to become perfectly white again.
