Dive into Delhi with our Old Delhi Spice Market Tour, a trip through the heartbeat of the city!
Explore the heart of Old Delhi, originally built as the capital of the Mughal Empire in 1639, and experience its lively streets, home to historic landmarks such as the Red Fort (viewed from the outside), Fatehpuri Masjid, the Jain Temple and the Sikh Temple. In addition to the historic sites, we will also visit several markets, including Asia’s largest wholesale spice market, Khari Baoli. Old Delhi is nothing short of madness, with seemingly everyone in the city trying to get to the same places. Let us guide you through the chaos and you will truly get a sense of Delhi’s vivacity and why the “Walled City” is its heart.

Visit Khari Baoli and learn about the spices and chilies that various invaders of India brought to the country and which are now so prominent in Indian cuisine.
We don’t go inside as it is closed in the evening, but we think the best view is from outside where you can appreciate the imposing structure.
See the hustle and bustle of the busy markets and people all apparently trying to go to the same place at the same time!
Visit the beautiful Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib. Learn about Sikhism and see the communal kitchen where anybody is allowed to eat for free. The kitchen is completely volunteer run and if you would like to help out, you are more than welcome!
Visit the capital’s oldest and most well known Jain Temple complex and learn about Jainism. (It is also home to the Jain Birds Hospital, a unique place where only vegetarian birds are treated!)
Be dazzled by radiant colors as you walk through Kinari Bazaar, otherwise known as the wedding market.
We meet at Rajiv Chowk Metro Station (Connaught Place) and the tour guide will travel with you to Old Delhi by metro which is only a few stops away.

Our guide was wonderful. She told us a lot about the history of the Mughals, Muslims, Sikhs, and Hindus, and explained all about the produce that was sold in the shops.

We had a private tour, and it felt like walking around with a friend. Conversation was easy, fun, and informative. At the time, a lot was going on… I was soaking in the experience of markets and Old Delhi… I felt very safe. Offering hand sanitiser frequently was very much appreciated!
